STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

  1. We accept all adult Ukrainians affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine - both refugees and Ukrainians still living in Ukraine.

  2. Currently, we are not able to offer lessons to Beginners of English (A0 & A1 levels). A student has to have at least A2 ( Pre Intermediate) level of English in order to participate in our program.

  3. We offer lessons only to adult students – no children or minors.

    WAITING TIME

Please give us time to process your application and to find you a teacher/speaking partner match. This could take between a couple of days and a couple of months, depending on the availability of volunteer teachers at the moment. Thank you for your understanding and for your patience.

STUDENT REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

To join our program as a student:

  1. Please write to Kalina at: teachersforukraine@gmail.com to indicate your interest. Please note that for your registration to be complete, we need to have a personal email from you in our files.

  2. Once Kalina receives your email, she will send you our Student Application google form to fill out in order to officially register with us. Each adult student should fill out a separate registration form. Google translation into Ukrainian and Russian follows the English text in all the questions in the application form.

  3. Once your filled out google application form is submitted, Kalina will start looking for a teacher for you. Once Kalina has a volunteer teacher available for you (this could take between a couple of days and a couple of months, depending on the availability of volunteer teachers at the moment), she will send you a formal student-teacher match email with your teacher's contact details and information on how to start your classes together.

  4. At that time, you will be able to contact your teacher directly to discuss your class time availability and your English language needs.

  5. In case there are more than a couple of weeks between your registration and your pairing with a teacher, Kalina might contact you before sending you a student-teacher match email to confirm your availability to start classes.

    SAFETY NOTE:

    • While we do everything to ensure the safety of both teachers and students, each individual participating in this initiative is responsible for appropriate conduct and creating a safe and nurturing environment. Please read carefully the Safety Information file Kalina will send you during your registration. Please notify Kalina immediately at teachersforukraine@gmail.com if you have any concerns about the volunteer she has paired you with.
